Deep geothermal tool upgrade
Objectives:
• Design, construction and testing of an environmental protection system to allow the borehole radar electronics
developed in WP3 to be deployed in deep geothermal wells.
• Development and testing of a high temperature borehole radar antenna suitable for running in deep geothermal
wells below the electronics.
• Design and production of a non-conductive, pressure and temperature rated tether to connect the borehole
radar antenna and the electronics assembly.
• Design and construct a complete core radar module based on the HDR technology of GGEO and increase the
dynamic range with up to 25 dB compared to earlier generations of borehole radars.
• Develop firmware and software for the radar system and interface with ALT well software stack.
• Develop enclosure needed to integrate the core radar module with the environmental protection system.
